State Property Tax Exemptions
Veterans with a disability that the Veterans Administration has determined is 100% service connected, permanently, and totally disabling may receive an exemption from real property taxes on the dwelling house and surrounding yard.
Eligibility
The following groups can apply for exemptions:
- Veterans with a disability that the Veterans Administration has determined is 100% service connected, permanently, and totally disabling.
- Disabled active duty service members
- Certain un-remarried surviving spouses
- Surviving spouses of military personnel killed in the line of duty
Note: Some active duty service members are eligible for a property tax exemption based on disability recognized by their individual branch of service. The VA does not verify these exemptions.
