Certified Disabled Veterans may be selected for employment without a competitive selection process. To qualify, please complete the freenames application process for Certified Disabled Veterans (DV).
License Reimbursements & Waivers
Commercial Driver’s License Skills Test Waiver
The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) can waive the driver skills test required in order to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for recently discharged service members who qualify. Individuals must have 2 years of military driving experience verified by the Commanding Officer and pass the CDL knowledge test.
Insurance Producer License Exam Reimbursement
The Maryland Insurance Administration reimburses veterans for the costs of approved licensing and certification tests required to become a Maryland insurance producer. In order to qualify, veterans must be eligible for benefits, have remaining entitlement to benefits, and their delimiting date must not have passed.
