The Women Veterans and Inclusion Program (WVIP) is dedicated to honoring the service of Maryland’s women, minority, and underserved veteran populations. DVMF and the WVIP, is committed to ensuring all veterans — including racial, ethnic, LGBTQ+, and other underserved groups — have equitable access to benefits, services, and opportunities earned through military service.

LGBTQIA+ Veterans
The Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families strives to provide all servicemembers and their families with an inclusive and safe environment. This includes resources and support for the LGBTQIA+ servicemembers and their families.
Minority Veterans
The Center for Minority Veterans is the Department of Veterans Affairs model for inter-and intra-agency co-operation, to ensure all Veterans receive service regardless of race, origin, religion, or gender.

Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E)
The U.S Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VRE) program is a resource for trained, educated and experienced veterans with disabilities. Qualified, prescreened applicants. Resources to assist with your recruitment and retention needs. On The Job Training Program and Special Employer Incentive Program supplement or reimburse portions of salaries of eligible veterans with disabilities. Federal tax credit for hiring an individual who participated in a vocational rehabilitation program.
Healthcare
Maryland Women Veterans Program Manager
Every VA has a Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) who can help you connect with resources and steer you to the services you need, such as primary care, gynecology, maternity care, mental health and counseling.
Women’s Health Transition Training
This course by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides important information on women’s healthcare services available from the VA post separation from the military.

Women Veteran-Owned Small Business Initiative
The initiative’s mission is to equip, empower and educate women veteran entrepreneurs for success and economic opportunities.

The Center’s mission is to advocate for improved outcomes and access to VA benefits, services, and opportunities for women Veterans through education, outreach, and collaboration.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Benefits for Women Veterans
Women Veterans may be eligible for a wide-variety of benefits available to all U.S. military Veterans, in addition to VA benefits and programs specifically for Women Veterans.
Maryland Veterans-Owned Small Business Enterprise Program
Maryland’s VSBE Program provides contracting opportunities on state-funded procurements for qualified veteran-owned small businesses. Designated agencies and departments are directed to spend at least 3% of the dollar value of their procurement contracts with certified VSBE firms.
Maryland's Commitment to Veterans
Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans offers care coordination, peer support, and referral services for US uniformed service members, veterans, and their families in Maryland. The program also provides educational opportunities and fosters collaboration with behavioral health and medical providers, peers, first responders, and community partners.
